The Northeast Diesel Collaborative (NEDC) combines the expertise of public and private partners in a coordinated regional initiative to significantly reduce diesel emissions and improve public health in the eight northeastern states.

Hamden, Conn. Celebrates Success With Cleaner School Buses

» Hamden, Conn.– Local leaders in Hamden gathered today to celebrate and recognize efforts to make school buses cleaner and safer through technology retrofits and anti-idling measures.

"We are proud to have taken simple steps that will yield major benefits," said Scott Jackson, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Hamden. "We have dramatically reduced the diesel exhaust from our school buses, which will protect our children’s health by lowering their exposure to air pollution. These steps will also save our community money and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions linked to global warming."
